The proposed aerial improves shortwave reception by changing the magnetic field generated at the moment of atmospheric discharge. The invention is currently under laboratory tests. The R&D unit is looking for research and technical cooperation for further joint development, license or manufacturing agreement.

The Polish research and development unit actively operating in the field of telecommunication created an aerial for a system locating atmospheric discharges.

Atmospheric discharges are a physical phenomenon, flow of positive or negative electrical charges between ionizing factors - the clouds and the ground in the air. Given the nature of factor between which the discharges occur, they can vary substantially. The most dangerous discharges for humans are the type of cloud-to-ground discharge, less dangerous are cloud-cloud or within the cloud types. Due to the nature of electric charge there are two types of discharges distinguished: positive and negative. The aerial is useful in all atmospheric discharges detection systems in the range of short waves. They are structurally similar to ferrite magnetic aerials. They are also composed of a magnetic inductive element made of ferrite materials but the length of ferrite rod, amount of wire scrolls on it and material around it are different and that is what has the greatest impact on effectiveness of the aerial.

The R&D unit is interested in establishing the cooperation in the form of license or manufacturing agreement in order to implement the idea in telecommunication sector. The R&D unit would also like to establish a long term research or technical cooperation in case of the possibility of the know-how development.
